Sakura – Cherry

sakura22The short-lived cherry flower is seen as a symbol and a reminder of the brief and beautiful but ephemeral life. Cherry Flower is also a sign of happiness and is also a symbol of love, affection and represents spring. Hanami, Cherry blossom viewing begins around March 20 in Kyoto, Japan. Here is the feast of the parties under the cherry trees in the parks, well just about anywhere, from early morning to late at night with the fantastic play of light over the trees. Today we celebrate cherry blossom arrival over the world with various events.

There are now over 300 species of cherry trees in Japan that have been hybridized from the original trees found throughout Asia. A big favorite among hybrid varieties known as Somei Yoshino, sacred for its white color and bloom with a hint of pink in the middle
