It is of the genus Camellia, Chinese: 茶花; pinyin: Cháhuā, a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae. White tea, green tea, oolong, pu-erh tea and black tea are all harvested from this species, but are processed differently to attain different levels of oxidation.

I knew that tea (some of which I have in a glass next me as I write this) comes from a plant in the genus Camellia that also includes the camellia flower that people have in their gardens, but this is the first time I’ve seen a flower from the tea type of Camellia. Now I know what it looks like, thanks to you.
