A chilly winter morning when you look out the window, it looks as if someone had dropped a shiny white eggs on the snowy ground. It’s Christmas rose, which penetrates up their plump buds right through the snow.

Hottest hot in the gardening world, Christmas rose that blooms when it is dark and cold with us.

There is no other perennial plant that blooms during the darkest and coldest time in our latitudes. Winter bloom is a genetically inherited from ancestors Christmas rose in the cold limestone mountains of southeastern Europe. It was there that a frozen donut in the dark Christmas Eve 1509 saw the miraculous flower. He was so entranced that he wrote the beautiful hymn “There is a rose ….” This according to one of the many legends about Christmas rose.
